Our Non-slam nozzle check valves are designed specifically for fast-reversing systems where backflow is a
constant concern in which a fluid, gas, or slurry is pumped in a low pressure or otherwise intermittent flow.
In particular, they are meant to close quickly and quietly during low pressure and no-flow periods, and can be
used to reliably prevent the liquid, gas, or slurry from flowing in the reverse direction.

In nozzle check valves, the shutoff mechanism is a disc, which is held against the seat by an internal spring.
With a combination of a lightweight closure member, spring assistance and a very short amount of disc travel, they are extremely responsive, closing in a fraction of a second. When the pressure of the fluid, gas, or slurry against the disc at the inlet overpowers the closing force of the spring, the spring compresses and the fluid, gas, or slurry flows freely. When the fluid flow slows or stops, the spring automatically closes the valve.
